September 4, 2018 – Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) recently participated at the Powertrends 2018 13th International Exhibition and Conference on Directions for Energy, Power and Electricity held last September 4-6, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City with the theme “Building a Resilient and Sustainable Energy Future: A Transformative Shift to Cleaner Energy”.
The event gathered key energy officials, business leaders, institutions and principal energy policymakers from the different sectors of the Philippine energy market. Among those present from the government side were Senator Sherwin T. Gatchalian, Chairman of Senate Energy Committee and Department of Energy (DOE) Undersecretary Felix William B. Fuentebella.
Mr. Renato S. Lampano, Vice President for Corporate Public Relations and Officer-in-Charge for EV/PHEV-related Projects, discussed about: “Electric vehicles: What lies ahead in the future of mobility?” He shared to the audience the value-added features and specifications of an electric vehicle (EV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) using Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV as representative model. He shared the “Vehicle-to-X” technology which could provide power to homes and even directly to the grid using EVs and PHEVs.
It could be of help to provide relief in case the country will be struck by the “Big One” or other catastrophes wherein fuel stations are closed; while homes and establishments do not have electricity. Moreover, in a video presentation which actually happened in Japan, said type of vehicles are reliable means of transportation to bring in food and medicine during times of disaster.
MMPC was also given the opportunity to exhibit and showcase the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and i-MiEV during the 3-day event.
